I can only assume he took a knee because he was unsure if he could control the recoil in full auto.
As a guy who shoots full auto handguns more than 99.9% of people I would never do that. Standing and leaning into it is the best way to "ride the recoil" but I'm not scared by select fire handguns so... 🤨
