If someone pulls a gun, particularly a handgun, and you're not going to fight then I'd highly recommend fleeing post haste. Distance is your friend.

I think all states need to pass legislation that increases the penalty for assault when a person continues to punch/kick/hit a person who is clearly knocked out and unconscious.
