About 15 people were standing outside Amazura nightclub at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday in Jamaica, Queens, when four men on foot approached the group of 16 to 20 year olds. Three or four men opened fire on the group, NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera said.
About 30 shots were fired before the gunmen fled on foot. They were then seen getting into a sedan with out-of-state plates." -WAFB

Escondido police received a call about a man with a knife jumping in front of vehicles and threatening drivers.
When they arrived the man stated he wanted police to shoot him and after her charged them his wish was granted with an impromptu ballistics test on his torso and leg.
After soaking up multiple 9mm hollow point rounds the man still refused to drop the knife. Additional officers eventually arrived and used multiple 40mm "sponge rounds" on him until he dropped the knife and was taken into custody.
Good example of pistol wounding ballistics if the central nervous system isn't hit.
