We obviously can't prove a counterfactual but I think it's entirely possible the legacy media would have just went with the "bird strike" theory and the real story of Russia shooting the plane down may never have been exposed without social media. Who knows but there's 0 doubt we were several days ahead of the legacy media on this one...
