A few points of note from the acting director of the Secret Service:
-would be assassin was near the 6th green
-Trump was located in the fairway of 5th hole when Secret Service agent fired his "firearm"
-from the map (I'll post it next), the engagement distance was likely 100-150 feet
-Ryan Routh fled and didn't fire his SKS as he didn't have line of site on Trump (checks out if he was on 5th fairway)
According to what we've seen in terms of photos of the suspect - all of the Secret Service agents shots missed.
The charge of possession of a "weapon of mass destruction" led me down a rabbit hole looking into what Ryan Routh, the would be Trump assassin, actually had.
According to this article it was actually an illegal machine gun.
Also, he apparently reached for an illegally concealed firearm during a traffic stop, fled, and barricaded himself inside a business but was never sent to jail for these offenses.
That's odd... 🤔

1. I'm honestly surprised he stayed in America and didn't to go a non extradition country. With just what's come out so far (not counting what was recovered at his homes that were raided) they have him dead to rights with enough charges that, if convicted, he'll never see the outside of a prison after the trial.
2. The "grand jury indictment" system needs to be reformed. Almost no evidence at all has to be presented to meet the standard of an indictment.
So a guy who used a SKS with no pistol grip, vertical grip, no threaded barrel, factory 10 round magazine, bought on the black market, etc... is the reason to pass an "assault weapons ban?" 🤔
They'll never stop trying to disarm law abiding Americans; plan accordingly...
