A bill has been pushed through the Senate that will ban all “high-capacity magazines,” and another has passed through the House banning “ghost guns.” ESSB 5078 (The magazine ban) is on the House Civil Rights & Judiciary Committee agenda for TOMORROW, 2/16/22. The ESHB 1705 (Ghost Guns) bill was passed in the House and is on its way to the Senate for consideration.
Ways you can help:
1. Comment on the bills and have your comments sent to your representatives. Request a response from them. You can do this using the "comment on this bill" feature on the bill information linked in our stories.
2. Provide written testimony on the bills and have your comments sent to the relevant committee. You can do this via the Committee Agenda page.
• Select Civil Rights & Judiciary for the Committee
• Select 2/16/22 10:00 AM for the meeting
• Select "I would like to provide written testimony,” and enter your comments.
3. Have your position noted for the record. You can do this on the same Committee Agenda page. Use the same drop-down menus and select "I would like my position noted for the legislative record". Note the system may default to "PRO" so be sure to select "CON".
4. Testify remotely. Again, you can do this from the same Committee Agena page using the same dropdown menus. Remote testimony is done via Zoom. There are time constraints during committee meetings, so you may sign up to testify but not get the opportunity to do so, which is why I advise submitting written testimony as well.
5. SHARE THIS MESSAGE. Make your voice heard! Our strength is in our numbers. This isn’t over yet.

Judge Elenor Ross is getting railed out in her "chamber" by the deputy chief of the Atlanta police department, Kelley Collier.
When the initial accusations came to light at the end of last week, Judge Ross said they were "outrageous and made up."
They're both lawyered up now as the DOJ has launched an "investigation."

A lot of y'all have been hitting me up in my various comments sections asking about what may happen (probably will) at midnight.
Well..... I've been in contact with politicians/lawyers/IOIs/state reps/etc.... over the last 48 hours pretty much constantly. If it goes through, there will be some nuances that will be important.
I'll be dropping a video sometime tomorrow, depending on how everything plays out, with all the details I can provide but some initial things to consider:
1. Some states have laws pertaining to the NFA - most of those will still be in play.
2. We (FFLs) still haven't received any guidance as of this post which will put FFLs that do transfers in a tough spot tomorrow. Most are mom and pop shops without attorneys on staff so please extend grace to them in the near term.
3. For some people in some places, "making" and "transferring" are legally different.
4. I know a lot of y'all are trying to join GOA (y'all can use QR code below to sign up) so ...
I had to agree to Youtube's new monetization policy today. I don't think it will actually impact me for a couple reasons:
1. Most of my content isn't allowed to be monetized and their "guidelines" for that aren't changing.
2. I don't do many Shorts and won't be anywhere near what the new guidelines (starting in Feb 27).
This will be a HUGE benefit for the AI channels though. They will be able to create a channel and meet all these guidelines in a few days at most. I absolutely think this is an intentional choice by Google/Youtube. From their perspective - it doesn't matter if you're watching real content or AI slop as they run the same ads either way. So, get used to lots of AI slop in your feed.
Within the "2A content space" this will likely disincentivize all the channels that blew up out of nowhere over the last few years by leveraging Shorts to gain subs. There's pros and cons to that.
Consume content accordingly...
